If you are a mom you may have recently come across the Instagram name @laurasykora with images of a mother and her young daughter doing yoga together. Laura Kasperzak is a 36 year-old mom of two young children and is the co-founder of Two Fit Moms in New Jersey, a yoga school she started with Masumi Goldman. As you can clearly see from the images, Laura’s daughter loves joining in with her mother and she also practices yoga on her own. Despite her tender years, Laura’s daughter practices ‘sun salutations’ and ‘down dog’ with ease. In a recent interview with Sara McGinnis, which was posted on Baby Center Blog, Laura was asked about people’s misconceptions and what she considered was the most common one regarding yoga. “That it’s easy. That it’s boring. That it’s just sitting on your mat meditating. That’s one form of yoga, and there are many, but it can be a workout — and is not boring!”

After the birth of her two children Laura, who has practised yoga for over 17 years, was keen to use it to help her get back in shape. Initially this was through a mix of strength training and cardio-based yoga, whereas now she concentrates wholly on power yoga. It was while practising yoga that her daughter began to take an interest and has become a little star in her own right. In the interview Laura also talked about an incident where her daughter asked Laura to take her photo when doing yoga. However, when her daughter saw the image, she told her mum it had to be done again as she wasn’t smiling. This is a very clear indication that Laura’s daughter loves doing yoga, and especially with her mother. We reckon it is a perfect way of doing some mother-daughter bonding.

Hip hip… MINI!!! Hip hip… MINI!!!  She finally let go today and got her toes to her head on my wheel. #ProudMama

The very heart of yoga practice is abhyasa – steady effot in the direction you want to go.

Like mother, like daughter. We give these two double-A pluses!

The soul is here for its own joy.

Yoga is the perfect opportunity to be curious about who you are.

Laura Kasperzak has over 1 million Instagram followers—and a quick scroll of her feed makes it very clear why. Hint: It has something to do with Laura’s adorable daughter, Mini, with whom Laura snaps tons of how-did-they-do-that yoga poses. The New Jersey mom and cofounder ofTwo Fit Moms has been practicing for 17 years (seriously, practice does make perfect), and shoots her own photos using an interval timer. And looking at the images, you definitely get a sense of the special bond between Mini and Laura, who often hashtags #loveminimeyoga, #MamaAndMiniYoga, and adds captions about how proud she is of Mini.

Yoga is a dance between control and surrender- between pushing and letting go- and when to push and when to let go becomes part of the creative process, part of the open-ended exploration of your being.

To perform every action artfully is yoga.

Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.

Here and Now is where Yoga Begins.

What a long day already! Woke up at 2am and went downstairs… Only to be greeted by an inch of water at the bottom. Our hot water tank blew over night. It definitely could’ve been worse… My poor hubby @acroeddie has been working non-stop to get the water up. This pic serves 2 purposes… It makes me smile and secondly, to let my fellow yogi parents know that another #MamaAndMiniYoga Challenge will be happening soon! Stay tuned…

In asana practice we learn to cherish each breath, to cherish every cell in our bodies. The time we spend on the mat is love in action.

Self-discipline, self-study, and devotion are yoga in the form of action.

Once you’re in touch with the life force around us, it’s  natural to want to help keep it around.

Getting our counterbalance on! Hahaha… Mini and I recreating another one I did with Claudine of @yogabeyond. I hope my mini never loses her fearless nature!

There’s no better way to introduce kids to a healthy and fun lifestyle other than through doing yoga practice together. Mini’s older brother does yoga too, but was too camera shy. Mimi on the other hand is more than happy to soak up the limelight.
